Wedding Musicians | North & Scotland

As preofessional wedding musicians there is nothing more exciting than jumping in the car to head north for a wedding! We love to travel, and we love the warmth and welcome we get whenever we head up north. Whether to one of the great cities or a beautiful rural setting, we really enjoy bringing a touch of Fizz to any wedding or celebration.

Celine & Jack: Carlton Hotel, Prestwick November 2025

Another wonderful wedding weekend saw us venturing up to Scotland for Celine and Jack! Twinkly lights and Christmas decorations set the vibe for the day along with some really different music choices that worked brilliantly! Andy’s special guitar has so many sounds and he was excited to show them off for the Groom’s entrance to ACDC’s Hell’s Bells followed by Celine’s aisle song, Creep by Radiohead. During the register signing we rocked out to Iris and calmed things down with Unchained Melody, a classic! The exit song was Bruno Mars’ Marry You which always works brilliantly. We quickly moved rooms to set up to play an upbeat set for the Drinks Reception and had a blast, all the guests were singing along and extremely appreciative which was lovely! We then decamped to the Wedding breakfast and performed some classic Bridgerton songs. We had such a great time at this lovely wedding and wish Celine and Jack all the best for the future!

Jordan and Alan: Newcastle Cathedral August 2025

We had an early start on Saturday before driving to Newcastle for Jordan and Alan’s wedding, and what a wedding it was! Newcastle Cathedral looked utterly stunning, decked out with pink blossom trees brought in especially for the occasion. We played a Bridgerton string set during the guest arrival before the bridesmaids entered to Lifetime by Justin Bieber. Jordan then entered to a special arrangement of Taylor Swift’s Crazier which worked brilliantly on the violin! After a lucky dip to choose which of the guests would do the reading (brilliant touch!) we played Perfect during the signing of the register before the Exit song which was Accidentally in Love!
After the Ceremony we relocated to the very classy rooftop bar Above at the top of the Vermont Hotel with fabulous views of the city! Here we did an upbeat sax set which had everyone singing along with all the faves like ABBA, Hungry Eyes, Careless Whisper, Angels and then shaking up the vibe some more with some Ibiza chill with Jubel, Freed from Desire and Mr Saxobeat. We were treated afterwards to a lovely Thai curry in the restaurant which was lovely! Jordan and Alan are the most lovely couple, we thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of this very special wedding and wish them every happiness for the future.

Jordan and Alan say:

“Wow wow wow, we got married in Newcastle Cathedral followed by the Vermont Hotel on Sunday and Sam and Andy were nothing short of magical. Our guests loved their enchanting melodies in the ceremony followed by gorgeous violin and sax tunes at our rooftop reception.
Atmosphere was the most important thing to us for our day and we are so overjoyed to have found these two – they are the definition of ambiance and our guests were in absolute awe. Walking into our ceremony with their beautiful arrangement of “Lifetime” and “Crazier” on violin and guitar is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Book these two, you will not regret it – live musicians will bring so much more to your special day than trends like welcome signs or flip flops ever will. These two are complete pros and I’ll always be grateful for how they made us/our guests feel and the tone they they brought to such a beautiful occasion – their music is now part of the soundtrack that plays in our heads when we remember the happiest day of our lives and always will be ♥️”

Newcastle-on-Tyne Cathederal and Vermont Hotel

Newcastle Cathedral

Newcastle Cathedral, formally the Cathedral Church of St Nicholas, is a Grade I listed Church of England building right in the heart of Newcastle’s city centre, combining centuries of history with a spiritual presence that many couples find meaningful. Marrying there means engaging with both the architecture and the ecclesiastical traditions: you or your partner must have a connection with the cathedral parish (or commit to regular worship for six months and apply to join the Electoral Roll) as part of the eligibility process. The cathedral offers several spaces for ceremonies, including the Nave, which accommodates large congregations, as well as the South Transept, St George’s Chapel, or Eastern Chapels for more intimate services (about up to 50 guests in those smaller areas). While it is primarily a place of worship, the cathedral also handles “life events” like weddings and blessings, offering couples the possibility of a deeply spiritual service in a dramatic, sacred setting. Because the cathedral itself does not have large reception or banquet facilities, most couples will host the post-ceremony celebrations elsewhere. In fact, in wedding write-ups, it’s common to see couples exchange vows at the cathedral and then move on to a reception venue in the surrounding region.

The Vermont Hotel

The Vermont Hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne positions itself as a refined, glamorous wedding venue combining art deco elegance, urban sophistication, and panoramic city views. Its Ballroom—originally part of the County of Northumberland Council Chambers—serves as a showpiece space, while its Sky Lounge & Garden offer a rooftop setting with 360° vistas over the city’s skyline, bridges, and river.

The Vermont offers multiple suites / event spaces—seven in total—allowing weddings from intimate to more sizable affairs (dinner capacity up to 160) in different styles. One package provides that the Ballroom, Gold Room, and Redwood Bar are among the principal spaces used — with the Gold Room offering an elegant, light-filled option with views, and Redwood acting as an atmospheric lounge for drinks or welcome receptions.

Couples are supported by a dedicated wedding team, and the venue emphasizes personalization: you’re not limited to one “set style.” The Vermont’s in-house catering team creates visually exciting but honest dishes, and there’s a rooftop terrace (“Above”) for dramatic photography, reception drinks, or ceremony enhancements.

Bess and Barnaby: The Restoration Yard, Dalkeith August 2025

Haggis and bagpipes were the order of the day at the wonderful wedding of Bess and Barnaby (and Bruno!) in Edinburgh! Bess entered in the most stunning dress to the beautiful song Photograph by Ed Sheeran. During the signing of the register we played a Scottish reel which we arranged specially and also a tongue in cheek rendition of Writing’s on the Wall! We then relocated to the beautiful courtyard where we played a set of traditional ceilidh music which worked brilliantly and was something a bit different for us! We then played a more melodic set to set the ambience for the Wedding Breakfast! We thoroughly enjoyed this wedding and wish Bess and Barnaby all the best for their honeymoon in Greece and their future life together! Congrats, guys!

A fantastic day for Amy and Daniel’s wedding today up in Clitheroe at the wonderful Holmes Mill. A first visit for us, this was a stunning warehouse venue that is also a fully operational brewery! The decoration was superb and Amy was a beautiful bride! Amy entered to a mash up that we arranged specially starting with Can’t help falling in love with you blending into Whatever by Oasis. We then relocated to the Bistro during the confetti shots where we played an upbeat set alongside some Andre Rieu requests! We were blown away by the style and elegance of this amazing wedding and wish Amy and Daniel all the very best for their future together!

Holmes Mill, Clitheroe

Perched near the Mendip Hills with sweeping views across Blagdon Lake and the Somerset countryside, Coombe Lodge offers couples an elegant, exclusive-use country house setting for wedding celebrations.

Industrial chic in Lancashire

Holmes Mill is a restored 19th-century cotton mill in the heart of Clitheroe, Lancashire, reimagined as an industrial-chic wedding destination that blends historic authenticity with modern luxury. Its Cotton Room—bathed in natural light and featuring reclaimed cinema seating—is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and can host 50 to 150 guests, while the venue accommodates up to 180 guests for evening celebrations. For the wedding breakfast, couples may choose between the Cotton Room or the stylish Bar & Grill, which contrasts the mill’s industrial character with Art Deco touches. One of Holmes Mill’s standout features is its seamless integration of experiential elements: it houses the Bowland Brewery, an onsite Food Hall, and the Spinning Block Hotel (39 boutique rooms), making it possible for guests to stay onsite and for the day to flow naturally from ceremony to late night without leaving the venue. The raw textures—exposed brick, visible beams, vintage mill machinery like the restored engine in the “Engine Room”—lend dramatic backdrops for photography and lend the space a story. In short, Holmes Mill offers couples a compelling mix of heritage, flexibility, and in-house amenities, all within a striking industrial shell that’s ready to be customized to their vision.

Charlotte and George: Charlton Hall, Alnwick June 2025

Another first visit for us to the stunning Charlton Hall Estate in Alnwick near the Scottish Borders for Charlotte and George’s Wedding! Absolutely gorgeous interiors here with one of the most stylish loos we’ve ever seen!
The Ceremony room was beautifully decorated with twinkling lights and foliage creating a fairytale ambience. The bridal party entered to Canon in D before we seamlessly blended into Bless this Broken Road for Charlotte’s entrance. She looked absolutely perfect with the most beautiful dress with a magnificent train. During the register signing we played A Million Dreams before the exit song Local Hero which we arranged specially for them. It worked brilliantly and was one of the best exit songs we’ve ever done!
We quickly transferred to the terrace during the confetti shots where we played an upbeat set for the Drinks Reception. Charlton Hall is an absolutely fantastic wedding venue and we were so lucky to be part of this wonderful wedding! We wish Charlotte and George every happiness for their future together!

“Absolutely amazing, I came across Fantastic With Fizz online and when I listened to some of their videos I knew I needed them at my wedding. My wedding was last week at Charlton Hall and they were absolutely amazing, their videos do not do them justice. They set the mood perfectly and everyone came up to me to tell me how amazing they were and I couldn’t agree more. Thank you so much for helping to make our day so special, we really appreciate it.”

Jess and Jack: Oulton Hall, Leeds June 2025

Busy wedding weekend starting with our first visit to the wonderful Oulton Hall in Leeds to play for Jess and Jack! We used our battery pack to play outside for the most beautiful ceremony in a gorgeous setting. Jess walked in to a solo violin version of Can’t Help Falling in Love with you. The stripped back sound was so hauntingly ethereal, there was not a dry eye in the house. Can You Feel The Love Tonight and Your Song were their signing songs before exiting to a bit of Dusty Springfield’s I Only Want To Be With You. We then relocated to the terrace where we played a mix of songs with everything from Tennessee Whisky to Feeling Good! We certainly felt very good at being a part of this gorgeous wedding and wish Jess and Jack every happiness in the future.

Thank you for everything.”
